2017 Business Week Award Winner Dr. Sergio Palacios

Sergio Palacios, Ph.D.
Visiting Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies
Palacios joined St. Mary’s University in 2016 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies. He received his Bachelor of International Business degree from Tecnologico de Monterrey (Monterrey Tech) in Mexico, his Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas-Pan American, and his doctorate from New Mexico State University.
Palacios is passionate about entrepreneurship. He founded his first company soon after finishing his undergraduate degree, developing pre-packaged food products and serving retailers such as H-E-B Mexico. His entrepreneurial background includes eight years in food manufacturing and distribution.
His research interests include entrepreneurship and e-commerce. He has published in peer-reviewed outlets, such as the International Journal of Bank Marketing, and in the proceedings of several conferences, including Decision Sciences Institute and Irish Academy of Management.
Palacios is an active member of the Academy of Management and the Decisions Science Institute.
