Academic Technology Services is hosting the 8th annual Summer Faculty Institute on Learning Technologies. The four-day institute, held May 22-25, 2017, is your opportunity to connect with experienced colleagues and guest speakers, get hands-on practice with cutting-edge technology, and walk away with the beginnings of a technology-infused curriculum plan.

Dr. Michael Chen currently serves as the Senior Academic Technology Officer (SATO) at Cal State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) where he provides leadership in all aspects of academic technologies, including instructional design, Online and hybrid delivery technologies, classroom technologies, distance learning support, assistive and accessible technology, and special events.
In 2013, Dr. Chen was selected as one of fifty academic and technology leaders in the nation to participate in the inaugural Breakthrough Models Academy, co-sponsored by EDUCAUSE, League of Innovation, and the Next Generation Learning Initiatives. He has presented and published in areas of academic technology support, faculty development and training, Online education, emerging technologies and Web development.
No stranger to St. Mary’s University, where he served as an academic technology administrator since from 2000 through 2014, Dr. Chen’s visit to the 2017 Faculty Institute on Learning Technologies is a warm welcome home to our colleague and friend. In the two keynotes, he will discuss the deep impact each faculty has on teaching and learning.
