Beyond the Lecture! • Nichole Flores, Ph.D.

The Center for Catholic Studies offers a number of lectures every year.  They are given by interesting people who draw on the Catholic intellectual tradition to speak to students, faculty, staff, and community.  Jason King, the Director of the Center for Catholic Studies, sits down with these individuals to talk about their background, how they came to their insights on the Catholic intellectual tradition, and where they see the future of Catholicism.  This conversation is Beyond the Lecture! 

Nichole M. Flores, Ph.D. 

Nichole M. Flores, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Director of the Health, Ethics and Society minor at the University of Virginia. Flores researches the contributions of Catholic and Latiné theologies to notions of justice and aesthetics in pluralistic and democratic political contexts. Her research in practical ethics addresses issues of politics, migration, labor, family, gender, bioethics, race and ethnicity, and ecology. She teaches courses on Catholic theology and ethics, religion and democracy, bioethics, and Latiné theology and religion.
