Guillermo Martinez, J.D.
Visiting Assistant Professor of Marketing
Martinez received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, his MBA
from Incarnate Word College and his juris doctorate from the St. Mary’s University School
of Law. After law school, he clerked with a bankruptcy judge and has since developed and
sustained various businesses.
Martinez has taught several courses in the areas of marketing, management, business law
and general business at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has co-published with
Suzanne Cory, Ph.D., Professor of Accounting, in various journals. Their current research
includes stereotypes and perceptions of members of business occupations.
Martinez sponsors a number of organizations on campus, in which he encourages student
members to give back to the community. He has been instrumental in helping place his
students in various jobs and internships, including positions at Wall Street firms, U.S.
Department of State, Teach for America, Union Pacific, USAA and Deloitte. Additionally,
he advises students interested in graduate and professional schools.
