The State of Voting Rights in Texas: A Choco Meza Event

Charles Cotrell, Ph.D., President Emeritus of St. Mary’s, will moderate a panel discussion that includes:

U.S. Representative Joaquin Castro
Lydia Camarillo, President of the Southwest Voters Registration Education Project (joining virtually)
José Garza, civil rights attorney, Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid
Doro Olivo, former member of the Texas House of Representatives

This is the third annual event the Political Science Department has hosted in honor of Choco Gonzalez Meza, a St. Mary’s alumna and lifelong political activist.
